October 24, 2017Maca – I have definitely noticed a huge difference using Maca. The first time I used I was wide awake for 24 hours and felt great, too great. I miss read the label and took three tablespoons instead of teaspoons.
Start out small, 1 – 2 teaspoons. I now use upwards of 2 tablespoons with only a slight positive impact on my energy levels and definitely not overstimulated.
Use gelatinized (heated to remove starch content), not raw Maca. Gelatinized Maca is also supposedly what the native Peruvians use and is more bioavailable.
Unlike too much caffeine, Maca is actually restorative and healing; it is particularly helpful with adrenal fatigue. I use maca just about every day in my morning shake.
UPDATE: Impact of maca can severely decline the more your body gets used to it. But if you ween off it from some time and reintroduce you’ll feel the same powerful impact. (Similar to Vit C)
